Parvovirus Outbreak!!!
by vc
We are still seeing more dogs being admitted with Parvovirus, more than we have ever had before. Our Isolation ward is full as I write this message.
It is a terrible virus and highly contagious, dogs that pick it up get extremely sick, as a vet nurse it’s heartbreaking to see.
Puppies must have their first vaccination at 6 – 8 weeks with a booster at 10-12 weeks and then every 12 months after that.
A C4 vaccination will protect your dog from Parvovirus, Hepatitis, Distemper, Corona virus and Parainfluenza for 12 months.
Please don’t take the risk with your pet, it’s just not worth it. Parvovirus is a killer and not all patients pull through even with the best intensive veterinary care.
Talk to any of the team at Vet Cross for advice on vaccinations.
