The Vet Cross 7 Point Plan of Wellness
There are seven important areas you can control to improve the longevity and quality of your pet’s life. If you don’t look after the basics then, just like yourself, eventually problems will arise.
1. Vaccination |
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE |
It makes good sense to prevent disease rather than wait till it’s too late when these sometimes fatal viruses can be extremely difficult and expensive to treat. |
2. Regular Health Checks |
EARLY DETECTION |
Early detection reduces the suffering of your pet and often improves the results of treatment. Young healthy animals require at least one health check a year but older or unwell animals may require them more frequently |
3. Parasite Prevention |
PROTECT YOUR FAMILY TOO |
Some parasites can infect and transmit diseases to you and your family making parasite prevention a key issue in the total care of your pet. Your choice of prevention should be tailored for your pet, household and lifestyle; the team at Vet Cross are specifically trained and have complete knowledge of the options available to you. |
4. Nutrition |
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT |
‘You are what you eat’ and the foods our pets eat are a massive contributor to their overall health and wellbeing. We have a range of diets formulated by expert animal nutritionists and the trained team at Vet Cross understand that specific requirements vary for pets of different ages and with varying health issues. |
5. Dental Hygiene |
DOG BREATH OR GOOD HEALTH |
There cannot be enough emphasis on the importance of oral hygiene, not only for the bad breath issues but the long term effects on your pet’s health if bad teeth are left untreated. Your pet’s teeth should be checked by you regularly and by your vet at least once a year. |
6. Grooming |
THERE’S MORE TO IT THAN JUST LOOKING YOUR BEST |
It’s not just a clip because your pet has long hair, grooming is an important part of the overall care. Bathing, brushing, blow drying, nail clip, ear check will pamper your pet with a total make over whilst giving us the opportunity to spot any health issues such as itchy skin or ear and eye problems. |
7. Insurance |
PEACE OF MIND |
With developments in veterinary care we have an ever increasing ability to treat complex problems and reduce your pets suffering. But all procedures and products cost money. Pet insurance takes money issues out of your decision making process so you can treat your pet in the way you see fit. |
