MEET OUR TEAM

Dr Tim Hill

Dr Tim Hill

Veterinarian & Business Owner
BVSc, MANZCVSc (Small Animal Surgery), CVE Internal Medicine, CVE Ophthalmology

Dr Tim Hill has been a veterinarian since 1993, with a passion for small animal surgery and ophthalmology. In 1998, Tim took the reins of Bundaberg Veterinary Clinic, and under his leadership, the business steadily grew. What began as a single clinic evolved into Vet Cross — a multi-location practice with clinics in Bundaberg, Bargara, and Gin Gin, offering care for animals big and small across the region.

Tim loves the constant variety and challenges that veterinary medicine brings, and he's proud of how Vet Cross continues to grow, embracing new technology and services to better care for patients and their families.

At home, he’s kept company by dogs Barney and Bruce — though due to some family allergies, they’ve had to forgo cats! The family also has two horses, Abbey and Rox. Outside of work, Tim enjoys spending time with his family, especially now that the kids are getting older and finishing school. On weekends, you'll often find him out in the boat fishing or catching waves.

Fun fact: Despite being our head surgeon, Tim holds the (unofficial) Vet Cross record for most broken bones — including fingers, wrists, ribs, and even a T10 vertebrae. He’s survived more mishaps than we can count, and the staff are always holding their breath when he heads off on holidays. Our most accident-prone team member by far — but we’re keeping him anyway!

Dr Andrew Marland

Dr Andrew Marland

Veterinarian & Director/Partner
BVSc (Hons), ACV Accredited Bull & Pregnancy Tester

Dr Andrew Marland graduated with honours in Veterinary Science in 2000 and has been dedicated to mixed practice ever since. After two years working in the UK, he returned to his hometown for a short locum stint at Bundaberg Veterinary Clinic in 2005... but never left. Drawn to the strong community ties and variety of work, Andrew became a partner at Vet Cross and helped grow it into the thriving regional practice it is today.

Andrew is passionate about all aspects of regional mixed practice, but his real interest lies in cattle work — especially helping producers improve productivity and farm animal welfare. He is an Australian Cattle Vets (ACV) accredited bull and pregnancy tester, and also serves as an ACV examiner, sharing his knowledge with others in the field.

Born and raised in Gin Gin, Andrew is deeply connected to the local area. He even attended Gin Gin Primary School where — fun fact — his dad was his teacher for two years! Outside of work, you’ll find him on the family’s cattle properties with a team of working dogs, including Dudley the Labrador, Max the Kelpie, and Poppy the Jack Russell, along with plenty of horses and cattle.

Fun Fact: Andrew was destined to be a vet — his parents famously caught him trying to pregnancy test their dairy cow at age seven... without a glove!

Dr. April Fegredo

Dr April Fegredo

Small Animal Veterinarian

Dr. April Fegredo graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Honours) from the University of Queensland and has been part of the veterinary industry since 2018. Her career began as a veterinary nurse in Toowoomba while studying Veterinary Technology, before transitioning into her veterinary degree.

April brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her role, with additional training in clinical small animal dentistry (University of Illinois, 2022), advanced CPR certification (American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care, 2023 & 2025), and Fear Free certification (2021). She is currently expanding her expertise through studies in Feline Medicine (University of Sydney, 2025-2026) and a clinical pathology course.

April’s passion for animals—especially cats—grew while fostering over 200 kittens during her time as a nurse. Her professional interests include feline medicine, behaviour (with an emphasis on fear-free handling), dentistry, nutrition, and emergency and critical care.

After experiencing many clinics during her training, it only took one hour at Vet Cross in 2023 for April to know she'd found the right fit. The supportive, down-to-earth team and the variety of fascinating cases sealed the deal.

“No two days are ever the same, and I love that I’m constantly learning and growing as a veterinarian,” she says. “Plus, I genuinely have so much fun doing what I do!”

Originally from Bundaberg, April has also lived on the Sunshine Coast, in London, and Toowoomba. These days, she shares her home with her British husband, three dogs—Winston, Ninja, and Zara—and two “failed fosters,” Sienna and Chris, who now rule the household.

When she’s not at the clinic, April loves beach days, travel, and chatting (which she claims is just her way of giving others a break from speaking).

Fun Fact: April used to be terrified of cats as a young adult—now she’s proudly known as the resident crazy cat lady!

Samantha brings over a decade of experience to the Vet Cross team, having started her nursing career in Sydney at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) North Ryde. She quickly progressed to inpatient care and later found her passion as an oncology nurse. After a few years on the Sunshine Coast, Samantha made the move to Bundaberg and joined Vet Cross in March 2025.

With a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and a special interest in oncology and customer relations, Samantha now thrives in her dual role—supporting both our patients and their humans. She loves watching pets recover and enjoys helping clients through the ups and downs of pet care with empathy and understanding.

Originally from Sydney, Samantha now lives locally with her beloved 2-year-old Cavoodle, Theodore. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hitting the gym, baking sweet treats, and spending time at the beach.
