ON-FARM DIAGNOSTICS FOR LARGE ANIMALS

On-farm Diagnostics For Large Animals

REAL-TIME ANSWERS, RIGHT WHERE YOU NEED THEM

When it comes to animal health, timing is everything. That’s why Vet Cross equips our mobile large animal team with advanced diagnostic tools — bringing the same level of insight you’d expect from a hospital setting directly to your property.

From investigating illness to making informed treatment decisions on the spot, our portable X-ray, ultrasound and pathology capabilities help us deliver fast, accurate veterinary care without delay.

PORTABLE DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY (X-RAYS)

  • Immediate, high-resolution imaging for bone, joint and soft tissue issues
  • Commonly used for lameness exams, fractures, and hoof problems
  • Ideal for horses and cattle that can’t be transported easily

Our mobile X-ray units give us detailed images on-farm — meaning faster diagnoses and treatment decisions, with minimal stress to your animal.

ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSTICS

  • Used for reproductive exams, pregnancy confirmation and internal assessments
  • Suitable for cattle, horses, sheep, goats and alpacas
  • Allows real-time assessment of organs, soft tissues and fluid accumulations

Ultrasound is a powerful, non-invasive way to investigate what’s happening below the surface — and can be especially useful in managing reproduction and internal illness.

PATHOLOGY & LABORATORY TESTING

  • On-site blood, faecal and tissue sampling
  • In-house analysis of key blood parameters for liver, kidney, hydration and infection
  • Faecal egg counts for parasite monitoring and management

Our pathology capabilities allow us to collect and process samples quickly, providing insights that guide treatment and improve outcomes — all without unnecessary delays.

Diagnostics That Drive Better Care

DIAGNOSTICS THAT DRIVE BETTER CARE

We know that travelling with livestock or horses isn’t always safe or practical. With our diagnostic tools on hand, we reduce the need for transport, improve comfort for the animal, and make better-informed decisions for your operation.

Our experienced team is trained to interpret results in the field and act quickly — so your animals get the care they need, when they need it.
