PAYMENT OPTIONS AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Vet Cross

HELPING YOU ACCESS THE CARE YOUR PET NEEDS

At Vet Cross, we understand that veterinary expenses are not always expected, particularly when a pet becomes suddenly unwell, is injured or requires emergency treatment.

Our priority is to help you make informed decisions about your pet’s care. We offer several third-party payment options, including VetPay, Afterpay and Zip, as well as GapOnly® claims for eligible pet insurance policies.

Please speak with our team as early as possible if you would like to use one of these options. Applications, approvals, limits, fees and repayment terms are determined by the individual provider.

FLEXIBLE PAYMENT OPTIONS

VetPay is a payment plan designed specifically for veterinary expenses. It may allow eligible clients to begin their pet’s treatment and repay the cost through scheduled direct debit payments.

You can apply directly through VetPay. Approval, deposit requirements, repayment amounts and applicable fees are determined by VetPay.

Afterpay allows approved customers to divide eligible purchases into instalments through their existing Afterpay account.

Your available spending limit, repayment schedule and eligibility are managed by Afterpay. We recommend checking your available balance before your appointment or before agreeing to treatment.

Zip provides eligible customers with another way to spread the cost of veterinary treatment over time.

Applications, available limits, repayments and any applicable fees are managed directly by Zip. You can apply or review your available balance through your Zip account before visiting the clinic.

PET INSURANCE CLAIMS

Vet Cross can submit GapOnly® claims for clients with an eligible policy from a participating pet insurance provider.

Rather than paying the entire veterinary invoice and waiting to be reimbursed, an approved GapOnly® claim allows you to pay only the gap. This is the difference between the Vet Cross invoice and the eligible benefit covered by your pet insurance policy.

HOW GAPONLY® WORKS

Let our team know that you would like to use GapOnly® for your pet’s treatment.
Vet Cross will submit the claim on your behalf.
Your insurer will assess the claim.
Once the claim has been approved, you pay the remaining gap.

GapOnly® can help reduce the amount you need to pay upfront. However, eligibility and the amount covered will depend on your insurer, policy limits, exclusions, excesses, waiting periods and the treatment being provided.

If a claim is not approved immediately, requires further assessment or is not eligible, you may need to pay the full account and seek reimbursement from your insurer.

CONSIDERING PET INSURANCE?

Unexpected veterinary treatment can sometimes involve a significant expense. Pet insurance may help make these costs more manageable and provide greater freedom when making decisions about your pet’s care.

We recommend considering insurance when your puppy or kitten is young, before health conditions arise that may later be treated as pre-existing conditions.

Policies vary considerably, so take the time to compare:

  • The percentage of eligible expenses covered
  • Annual benefit limits
  • Excesses and co-payments
  • Waiting periods
  • Treatment exclusions
  • Dental and preventative care benefits
  • Cover for hereditary or breed-related conditions
  • Age restrictions
  • Whether the policy supports GapOnly® claims

Vet Cross cannot recommend a particular policy or insurer. Please review the relevant Product Disclosure Statement and choose the cover that is appropriate for you and your pet.

Prevention Is Better Than Cure

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE

At Vet Cross, we strongly believe that prevention is better than cure.

Routine health checks, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care and early investigation of changes in your pet’s health can help identify concerns before they become more serious. Preventative care is often simpler, less stressful and less expensive than treating advanced illness.

Our free Complete Care Club helps members stay organised and save on eligible preventative care, including vaccinations and selected flea, tick, heartworm and parasite treatments.
