Thoughtful In-hospital Euthanasia
Our hospitals offers a quiet, comfortable space where you can say goodbye privately. While it’s not a dedicated room (yet), we take special care to prepare the space with soft bedding, a calm environment, and all the time you need.
Whenever possible, we offer families the choice to leave discreetly via a side or back door, avoiding the busy reception area during this difficult time.
Home Visits Available
For some families, home is the most peaceful place for their pet’s final moments. Our vets can come to your home, so your pet can stay surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and the people they love most.
FACILITIES THAT PRIORITISE PET COMFORT AND SAFETY
Our team will guide you gently through every step of the process. We will talk you through what to expect and ensure your pet is comfortable and pain-free.
Typically, the process involves:
- A calming sedative to help your pet relax
- Time for you to say your goodbyes
- A final injection that allows them to pass peacefully
We understand how emotional this time is — and we are here to offer as much time, support, and guidance as you need.
FUTURE PLANS FOR A DEDICATED END-OF-LIFE SPACE
At Vet Cross, we are always looking for ways to improve the experience we offer our clients. We are currently working towards creating a soundproof, purpose-designed space within our Bundaberg hospital specifically for end-of-life care, giving families even more privacy and comfort in the future.
